This course focuses on EVPN/VXLAN as the de-facto standard for scalable, multi-tenant data centre and campus networks. Participants learn why traditional VLAN-based designs fail at scale and how VXLAN overlays and EVPN control planes solve these limitations. The course covers architecture, control-plane signalling, tenant segmentation, and traffic forwarding behaviour, with a strong emphasis on operational understanding rather than configuration detail. Real-world deployment models, troubleshooting considerations, and common design pitfalls are examined. Delegates leave with the ability to interpret EVPN/VXLAN designs, assess vendor implementations, and understand how these technologies support hybrid cloud and high-availability environments.
Pre-requisites: Solid understanding of IP routing and switching; basic data centre networking knowledge.
